The ePMbook - Project and Programme Management

The ePMbook - Project and Programme Management

The ePMbook presents learning and wisdom based on practical experience, drawn from many programmes and projects. It does not try to define a methodology - there are far too many methodologies. It focuses on issues and how to deal with them.

Book review:

The author organizes his book in a matrix of topics, which you can jump right on to any topic of your interest. Each topic always guided with the self-questioning of 'why/what/how'. It is to show that the author emphasizes on the very nature of starting a project, something which covered on any other Project Management books, only in this book the author decides to formally put the questions on the beginning of every topic. This will help the readers with not much time in their hand to quickly address the points rather than to read the entire chapter/topic and try to make the conclusion themselves.

The readers can regard the ePMbook as a guideline or a checklist. The author's 26 years of experience with Project Management has brought us a clear and concise reading, well categorized and well formatted. Topics are filled with steps, functions, ideas, estimations, benefits, considerations, tips, patterns, examples -- you name it, with easy-to-focus list-based presentation, rather than ideas-filled paragraphs.

Overall, the ePMbook is a decent reading. Whether you're a programmer or a project manager, you'll find this book worthy of your time and effort. I highly recommend this web-based book to the readers.
