Patricia Haden holds a B.Sc. in Cognitive Psychology and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of California at San Diego. After immigrating to New Zealand in 1994, she became the Director of Networked Medical Education at the University of Otago Medical School, developing software for teaching, training and assessment. She joined the School of ICT in 2002. She teaches advanced software development and is the Schools Research Coordinator.

He has authored over 140 articles in refereed journals, a downloadable book on statistical analysis, and numerous freely available statistical programs. His research has been supported by the National Institute of Mental Health (USA) and the Marsden Foundation (NZ), and he is a fellow of the RSNZ. His research interests are cognitive psychology, and quantitative and statistical models and methods.
